Arts workshops for children and young people

If you need to engage children and young people with arts activities, this year or next, you have come to the right place. Nugent Education (Est. 2006) provides CRB / DBS checked artists who travel to your school or centre, to provide a wide range of creative, performing and urban arts workshops.

Their artists deliver educational arts workshops and activities to primary and secondary schools, youth clubs, childrens centres and other settings. Popular arts activities include:

Arts activities are a terrific way to inspire, teach and engage children and young people and even adults. From kids parties, to corporate events, curriculum enhancement and youth engagement, we have a workshop or course to suit you.

Workshops are bespoke, so they can easily be made suitable for all ages and abilities, including children with learning disabilities.

Schools often use Nugent Education to make curriculum areas more interesting, be it for art, drama, English, PSHE and other subjects. For example, by making graffiti art a part of a given art curriculum, it can make the subject much more appealing. We have used rapping to revise for exams, DJ skills in music and African drumming to promote cultural awareness.

It is often the case that there are other ideas or objectives to be embodied with an arts workshop or course. This may be anti bullying, Black History month, citizenship and more.  As a consequence, arts workshops can be utilised to embody learning initiatives in a non threatening way.

From one or two hour sessions, to six week courses, we can usually work within your budget and requirements. The feedback available on our feedback page is full of recent positive feedback. This is testimony to the fact that this is an organisation you can rely on, with a decades experience and a proven track record.

As well as delivering workshops for primary and secondary (and Special) schools (all key stages), this company works extensively with childrens homes, youth clubs, secure units, shopping centres and any organisation that works with children, teenagers and young people. Artists are also available to provide team building activities such as African drumming for corporate events, rappers and dancers for partys and whatever is required.

Arts workshops are easy to book

All that is needed is workshop dates required, times, participant numbers and ages along with the venue address. We usually work with up to twenty participants per workshop (artist) though for schools, we can sometimes accomadate class sized groups of up to thirty school children.

Rapping & human beat boxing workshop:

Both practitioners, whilst very different in style and personality, were absolutely superb. They engaged the children and staff and knew exactly how to pitch the workshop to ensure all children felt a sense of achievement.

Urban zumba street dance workshop:

The practitioner was an excellent dancer who engaged the majority of children into 1920s dance by blending some of it with more modern dance moves. All groups, of which there were 6, were able to perform a dance sequence which lasted a few minutes, which is certainly an achievement for some of our year 8 boys.

African drumming and human beat boxing:

In the meantime, thank you for your support in arranging the workshops for us – the students were buzzing at the end of the two days and we’d definitely recommend the Beat Boxing & Drumming workshops.
